Two new cosmetics collections turn two of the most iconic faces and pop culture personalities into pure beauty. Here, our picks to make your shopping a little simpler!

It’s not hard to fall head over heels in love with the two latest collaborative cosmetics collections from MAC and NARS. After all, they’re based around Marilyn Monroe’s enduring beauty and Andy Warhol’s incomparable art. Both limited-edition lines’ launches are imminent (MAC’s in stores October 4 and online today, NARS’s October 1), so before they’re all—inevitably—sold out, nail down your shopping list with a little help from our favorite product picks.

The Marilyn Monroe Collection essentially takes everything the sultry actress was known for—red lips, check; cat-eye liner, check; porcelain skin, check—and modernizes it through more advanced textures like shimmer, matte and frost. Try that iconic eye with the help of the easy-peasy Sharpie-like Penultimate Eyeliner and a little matte white kohl eyeliner in the waterline, or a ruby-red pout with the matte Charmed I’m Sure lipstick. A standout lip shade from the collection, which was masterminded by MAC director of artistry Gregory Arlt (himself a huge Marilyn fan), is Deeply Adored, a deep scarlet red that’s perfectly in line with the season’s runaway oxblood trend. You also can’t go wrong with the peachy Forever Marilyn Beauty Powder, which makes an awesome highlighter, or any of the exclusive nail lacquers, especially the matchy-matchy Stage Red and golden Rich, Rich, Rich.

Andy Warhol was known for a different kind of beauty—that of his art—and his legacy has inspired quite a dynamic (and huge!) collection of makeup from the creative geniuses at NARS, thanks to his experimental aesthetic. First off, the Eye Shadow Palettes are amazing. In two printed designs, one floral and one self-portrait, they work strikingly quirky shades in with super wearable basics. Also excellent is the rainbow collection of cream nail polishes, from a perfect purple to deep emerald-turquoise and butter yellow. They’ve also taken inspiration from muses Edie Sedgwick and Debbie Harry for cheekily named sets. This season, we’re especially into easy but statement-making eye looks, and the Soft Touch Shadow Pencil, in the metallic Silver Factory, grape and turquoise, make achieving that so simple. In fact, pretty much any product selections from this collection will ensure you, like a Warhol, draw all the eyes in the room.
