The UK-based blogger behind Whimsical Wonderland Weddings, a site featuring the best of unique and unexpected weddings, shares what’s in her beauty arsenal despite a busy schedule keeping up with her two-year-old son
Morning routine:
I have to admit, I’m a simple girl when it comes to beauty routines, especially now that I have a toddler! I have tried several different products, but none have stuck as of yet. At the moment, I have just started using Clinique 7 Day Scrub, followed by Simple Replenishing Rich Moisturizer. I have combination skin with eczema on one hand and a scattering of spots on my chin since I’ve had my little boy, so it’s been hard trying to find something that works.
Overnight skin ritual:
I use Simple Cleansing Facial Wipes followed by my Simple Moisterizer. Sometimes I use my ‘proper’ Delacour cleanser (if I am being good!).
Who cuts/colors your hair:
I have my hair cut by a local hairdresser, which is inexpensive and she does a lovely job. I don’t want to spend too much or have anything too over the top. I have a blunt fringe cut in which frames my face, with blunt ends and no layers to thicken up my thin hair.
Hair habit:
I wash my hair every few days and use whichever shampoo/conditioner is in the shower, which my boyfriend usually buys! At the moment I am using Pantene. I can let my hair dry naturally as it’s so straight, but since having fringe I have to blow dry that otherwise it will stick up in all directions. I use a John Frieda Frizz Ease Thermal Protecting Serum, and large round brush for smooth results. I must admit I haven’t been using my straighteners much recently—I’m going for a more natural look. On in-between days I use Batiste Spray in Brunette. But I have been experimenting with up-do styles, like a high bun using a donut as well as some plaited styles, which have been fun.
Favorite eye look:
I am very simple when it comes to make up. I have never tried a smokey eye or anything dramatic. I never wear eyeshadow. In the past I have tried a bit of eyeliner—I do love a flicky liquid eyeliner look. Usually I tame my brows, use YSL Touche Eclat under the eyes, curl my lashes and give them a coat of mascara.
Go-to lipstick:
I never wear lipstick—a coat of Vaseline and I’m good to go. I do love a deep, bright Pillarbox Red if I am feeling confident though.
Nail color of the moment:
Ohhh this is hard. Recently I have been loving my sparkle gold OPI polish, which pretty much goes with everything.
Signature scent:
I use different scents on different days, but mostly I wear Daisy by Marc Jacobs.
“Never without” product:
Vaseline, it’s always in my bag and my bedside table. It’s great for both me and my little boy. It has so many uses—it’s just fab!
Secret to staying young and beautiful:
I have no idea! I would have to say to just keep smiling.

I’m glad to hear you’re taking good care of your skin. I didn’t realize the importance of good skin care until I started doing my research. Being a make-up artist, I have clients who are always switching products and it dries out their skin. I’ve begun to refer them to “lovemybody” because they offer products that hydrate your skin throughout the day- which promotes the fight against dark eye circles, wrinkle lines, blemishes…you name it!
