Morning routine:
Taking care of my skin is very important to me. I want to keep my face looking young, smooth and fresh every day. Thirty may be the new 20, but I want to make sure my skin keeps up with the rumor! Every morning I wake up, shower and cleanse my face with Dermologica Daily Microfoliant. After drying off I use my Clinique All About Eyes Serum De-Puffing Eye Massage to cool off my morning eyes. Then I’m ready for my creams. I start with Replenix Retinol Plus Smoothing Serum, then I moisturize with Aveeno Clear Complexion Daily Moisturizer and top that off with Dermologica Total Eye Care with 15 SPF.
When it comes to makeup, I’ve figured out the perfect flawless five-minute morning routine that I stick to religiously. I start with Revision Skincare Intellishade with 45 SPF, then I move onto a whole grouping of NARS powders that make my skin bronzed, dewy and glowing without looking like I am wearing much makeup at all. (That’s my favorite part!) From NARS I use Laguna Bronzer, Orgasm Blush, Albratross Highlighting Blush and Miss Liberty Highlighting Blush. I’ll use Miss Liberty shimmer for a base on my eyes as well. Then I’ll wear Lash Perfection Gel by Perfekt and MAC Viva Glam Lipstick and matching top gloss. Overall the look is clean, glowing and perfect for everyday wear.
Overnight skin ritual:
Would you believe it, on most nights I forget to take off my makeup! True fact. But recently I was introduced to Arcona skincare and that has actually changed my evening routine. I start with their cranberry-scented Triad Pads, which remove my makeup while feeding it the right nutrients and antioxidants. Then I follow that up with their Solution Pads—I love how they cool and tingle your skin. From there, I dab on Arcona’s The Eyes Have It and Peptide Eye Wrinkle Repair and head to bed. When I wake up in the morning it’s like my skin looks 10 years younger: fresh, tight and glowing. Waking up like this every morning is the best way to start the day!
Who cuts/colors your hair:
I’ve been a customer of Hairroin Salon in Hollywood for a few years now! They seriously rock, hitting the mark with edgy-cool and technical perfection. As for color, I’ve been dying my hair myself since I was 18. Give me a L’Oreal Feria #66 Ruby Fusion and I am a happy camper. I re-dye my hair every New Year, spring and fall for a bold red transition and style statement. It is the perfect color match to my ever-spunky personality and my creative wardrobe style.
Hair habit:
I am a wash-and-go hair kind of girl. No products, just a quick run-through with my blow dryer. Done and done! The fashion stylist in me is notorious for adding necklaces, bohemian head chains, turbans and pins into my hairline. I love making a statement with hair accessories.
Favorite eye look:
I prefer a simple cat eye. I begin with a nude sparkle on my eyelid—Stila Kitten always does the trick. For the liner I use Almay Intense 1-Color Black Liquid Eyeliner. I never can get my cat eye points even, so this still takes me a few tries before I am content. I top off with Lash Perfection Gel by Perfekt as an eyelash primer and then use Covergirl Lash Blast Volume Mascara and voila! Simple, bold perfection.
Go-to lipstick:
I’ve never been a big bright lipstick girl. During the day it wears off quickly and I forget to put it back on. At night, it hinders me from kissing my boyfriend, and who wants that? When it comes to makeup I’m all about practicality. But I have been trying out some new products to see what I like. So far I’ve enjoyed wearing NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Cruella (a dark red) topped off with NARS Albatross Lip Gloss. (Can you tell I’m on a NARS kick?)
Nail color of the moment:
Right now I’m taking Essie Mesmerize for a test drive. It’s a rich denim blue and I am mixing it with Essie Punchy Pink, a bold neon for a pop on my ring finger. I like the edginess of the blue, but I’m a total girly girl at heart and the pink does that for me. Then I’ll wear the Punchy Pink on my toes as well because it makes my feet look seriously tan!
Signature scent:
Bath and Body Works Sweat Pea Body Mist. I think I’ve been using it since college—I always have a bottle in my bathroom I spray right when I hop out of the shower. I even use it as a room freshener when I’m looking to have my senses sweetened.
“Never without” product:
I don’t ever leave my house without my Rosebud Strawberry lip gloss and moisturizer. It’s the perfect gloss, the perfect shine and the perfect look if you just need a little something more for your lips. Plus, it’s delicious!
Secret to staying young and beautiful:
Finding your own personal happy place. When you love yourself, you are truly beautiful and you become timeless.
