Lauren DunningMorning routine:
In the morning I wash my face with REN skincare products. My skin is a little on the oily side, so I use their Mayblosson T-Zone Control Cleansing Gel. I love REN’s products because they’re a very clean line—no petrochemicals, sulfates, parabens, etc. (Lately I’ve been trying to go more and more green when it comes to my skincare, hair and makeup.) And of course sunscreen! Next, I spray my face with . I love the smell of rose water and it acts as a natural toner. Lastly, I can’t go without my Vanicream Sunscreen Sport with SPF 35. I love this stuff! Again, it’s a product that doesn’t contain dyes, lanolin, parabens, etc. I pretty much use this as my moisturizer because it’s fairly thick.
One might be surprised I don’t wear very much makeup. You’d think as a makeup artist I would wear a lot, but I really don’t. When I do wear makeup it’s usually a bit of tinted moisturizer from Laura Mercier, some cream blush from Stila, mascara from Tart and a tinted lip balm from Clarks Botanicals. Of course, if it’s a night out I will add more to my eyes, but on a day-to-day basis I keep it simple.

Overnight skin ritual:
At night I make sure to use my REN cleanser or the REN Jojoba Microbead Invigorating Facial Polish to exfoliate the dead skin cells. I follow that with the Rosewater mist and then the REN Omega 3 Night Repair Serum and the REN Frankincense Revitalising Night Cream.

Who cuts/colors your hair:
Michael Sparks at Chris McMillan Salon—he is amazing! I recently chopped all my hair off and he did such a great job. He did it in three visits so as not to traumatize me. We met a year ago on set and he has been cutting my hair ever since. I even got my dad to start going to him!

Hair habit:
My hair is very curly, thick and dry—a triple threat—so I always have to use hydrating products. Right now I’m using the Peter Lamas hydrating line. Once out of the shower I use his Styling Mousse and then a little of his Chinese Herbs Styling Cream. I don’t blow-dry my hair, I just let it air dry.

Favorite eye look:
I like a subtle smoky eye in purple and grey with a pop of shimmer at the inner corner of the eye.

Go-to lipstick:
Chanel Rouge Coco Shine in Boy (it’s a good natural lip color) and Dior Addict Ultra-Shine 382.

Nail color of the moment:
I’m pretty boring. I love all of the new spring colors, but I tend to stick with my tried and true, Essie Limo-Scene. It goes with everything!

Signature scent:
I’m still experimenting with this one. I don’t wear a lot of perfume—I like essential oils mostly and I’m typically drawn to vanilla scents.

“Never without” product:
Smashbox Cream Eye Liners—any color! These are the best! I love using them as eye primers and they helps to outline the eye before I apply shadows.

Secret to staying young and beautiful:
My Nicherin Buddhist practice, laughing a lot and ample amounts of sleep and exercise.
