A new line of fragrances based on your blood type debuts

There’s already a diet based on blood types, so it was only a matter of time before a fragrance of the same specificity came to being. Created by fashion designer Giovanni Castelli and photographer Antonio Zuddas, who were fascinated with blood’s historical legends and meanings, Blood Concept focuses on the “river of life” within all of us, pairing unique, unisex fragrance blends with each of the four blood types (A, O, B and AB). But don’t expect a floral bouquet; instead, these scents hearken back to our primeval roots. With O being the first blood type to develop, the corresponding fragrance is the most carnal and earthy. A has a touch of green while B is woodsy and spicy. AB, the last blood type to develop, is more synthetic in scent, referencing the urban experience of contemporary man. But all four finish with the same note: the vaguely metallic scent of real blood. Bloodconcept.com, $160–$185
